Saue Day Camp

Every summer we organise a weeklong camp for the children living in Saue or in the region. This year’s camp was the tenth in row already! There is usually around 25 participants whose ages vary from 6 to 12. Children have the possibility to make wonderful crafts and do art together, go on bike trips and fishing, go hiking and on different tours around Estonia, get acquainted with the basic principles of First Aid, go camping and sleep in tents, build a true campfire and grill sausages, marshmallows near the seaside on the Pakri peninsula.

Pivarootsi Art Camp

Pivarootsi Art Camp – has already taken place 14 times. The art camp tradition started in Jõgisoo where it took place for 4 years, after what it moved to Pivarootsi (to the Pivarootsi Learning and Holiday Centre of the Estonian Union for Child Welfare).

Every summer 70 children from 7 to 18 attend Pivarootsi Art Camp, where they can participate in different activities such as art, sports, crafts, music and film & media over a 10 day period. Children go hiking on foot, by bike and by boat. The camp is organised by Saue Youth Centre.

Work Camp

The aim of the Work Camp is to give the adolescents their first job experience, teach them responsibility and the basic principles of the labor laws and work safety. Saue Town Council provides the youth with different types of work: weeding, curb cleaning, landscaping work and bulb planting in the area. The tasks also include cleaning work, etc. at Saue High School, at our local kindergarten and at the Youth Centre and also helping single elderly people with weeding and mowing. The youngsters are guided by the workers of the youth centre, kindergarten and school-management.
